21 Roots Farm sits on 21 acres of rolling hills, woods and grazing land for goats, sheep, donkeys, alpacas, cows and chickens. The orchard has apple, pear and cherry trees and the prairie is filled with wildflowers and grasses native to Minnesota. We create small and intentional programs tied to the plants, animals and land for people with developmental disabilities. Everyone who comes to the farm as a participant is recognized as a farmer, an expert and a peer.
21 Roots Farm is committed to:
Growing connections with animals, plants and each other
Uniquely designing opportunities for developing skills for everyday life
Learning what our farmers enjoy and what they're good at
Preparing food together with ingredients from our gardens and orchards
Training farmers to train their peers in farm-based employment
Observing the farm cycle of life
